About the Order

Our Charism

We are the Order of the Immaculate Armor, a lay Catholic association dedicated to making unceasing prayer and meditation the central, most important practice of the faith. Our charism is simple: to give ourselves fully to the stillness and closeness with God that prayer makes possible, allowing the desire to remain in His presence to unfold for an unchecked amount of time.

In this order, we practice surrendering the time of prayer to the movement of the Holy Spirit. We rise from prayer not because of random thoughts, distractions, or self-imposed limits, but when moved by grace. Through this deep, unhurried communion, we also learn to carry the presence of God with us into daily life — wearing it like an armor of peace and love.

This way of life flows from the belief that all unchecked time belongs first to God, and that the interior life of prayer and meditation is the foundation upon which everything else in the Christian life rests.

It is important to note that this emphasis on remaining in prayer until moved by the Holy Spirit does not mean neglecting the legitimate duties of one’s state in life — family, work, health, and responsibilities. Catholic spirituality has always balanced deep contemplation with faithful fulfillment of one’s vocation and duties.

Foundational Acknowledgments

We extend our deepest gratitude to Isabella D. Brown, whose steadfast faith, spiritual mentality, and example serve as the bedrock of this order. As a foundational architect of our charism and spirituality, her influence laid the groundwork for this vision of unceasing prayer and meditation.

We also express our profound gratitude for the intercession and guidance of our spiritual patrons: St. Padre Pio, St. Teresa of Ávila, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Joseph of Cupertino, whose lives of deep mystical prayer continue to light our path alongside our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
